JOB TITLE: Senior Marketing Manager
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: General Manager – Marketing & Commercial Growth
LOCATION: Molineux Stadium
HOURS: 37.5 Hours, including evenings, weekends, matchdays and other events
DATE: December 2022

Job purpose

To develop, implement and constantly review the club’s overarching brand and marketing strategy –
ensuring it is completely aligned to Wolves’ overall club objectives (particularly to drive the value
and frequency of spend within the core areas of partnerships, retail and ticketing).

To help ensure the club’s stakeholders (particular supporters) remain engaged with Wolves and to
support commercial department colleagues in delivering industry leading marketing campaigns for
the commercial department and key partners.

Key responsibilities

  • To develop and to be responsible for implementing the club’s brand narrative and marketing
strategy locally, nationally, and internationally
  • To work closely with the GM of Marketing & Commercial Growth to define and implement
marketing activity around key club’s objectives and priorities
  • To have overall responsibility for above and below the line marketing communications to
supporters
  • To work with the Head of Digital to constantly improve and develop the club’s digital marketing
strategy, including the club’s website (wolves.co.uk), club app, esports programme and the
club’s email platforms
  • To work closely with the Head of Media on content opportunities across the club’s media
platforms and internationally via a number of appointed agencies
  • To work closely with the Head of Partnerships to help to deliver marketing & communications
activity and content associated with commercial sponsorships
  • To oversee the creation of marketing materials & content for all sales departments i.e.
Membership, Museum, Lottery, Ticketing, Retail, Hospitality, Football Development
  • To take overall responsibility for the A/V around matchday, working closely with a number of
appointed agencies to constantly evaluate and improve the experience for supporters
  • Overall responsibility for fan engagement in the FanZone on matchday, ensuring that the club
are constantly looking at ways to improve experience, activate partners and drive commercial
return
  • To lead all on-pitch activity (pre, half or post-match)
  • To work with the Supporter Insights and Loyalty Manager to drive database growth both
domestically and internationally, there will be some travel involved with the role
  • Work with Fan Services Manager to research opportunities for growth and improvement
throughout the club (sitting as a lead on a number of fan focus groups)
  • To manage all members of the marketing team, ensuring they are operating at maximum
capacity
  • To oversee agencies in the UK and internationally to ensure that they meet all targets and
deliver excellence
  • To work closely with the Head of Media and Head of Wolves Community Trust to deliver cross-
club fan engagement opportunities, such as Wolves Wishes etc.
  • To be responsible for the marketing budget

  • This role carries a specific safeguarding responsibility. This means that the post-holder is
required to apply all relevant policies and uphold the club’s commitment to safeguarding
vulnerable people

Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager

Knowledge: the level and breadth of knowledge to do the job e.g. understanding of a defined system,
method or procedure, legal or regulatory frameworks etc

Essential

  • Extensive experience within a marketing role (strategic and operational)
  • Track record of getting the best out of people / agencies
  • People and team management experience
  • Experience of managing third party agencies
  • Experience of working in the entertainment industry
  • Experience of working with celebrity/high profile talent

Desirable
  • Previous experience of working in football/sport

Technical/work-based skills: skills specific to the job e.g. language competence, typing skills, coaching skills
etc

Essential

  • Exceptional knowledge of the office suite (power point, excel, word, outlook)
  • Experience of budgeting and managing monthly budget meetings
  • Technical experience of using digital / content management systems

  • Ability to speak more than one language
