Company Overview:

Sunvapor has developed solar steam, energy storage, and desalination technologies with several awards from the US Department of Energy. Based in Pasadena, CA, Sunvapor designed, built, and operates the country’s only industrial solar boiler. Sunvapor was awarded a prestigious Solar Desalination Prize in 2021 from the US Department of Energy for its patented hybrid membrane process.

Key responsibilities:

• Front-end-engineering design of solar process heating systems and their integration into client facilities
• Construction management support for installation of mechanical equipment
• Manage O&M operations at existing and new Sunvapor installations
• Specify and source equipment
• Train contractors in assembly, installation, and maintenance.
• Supports commissioning of new installations
• Supports new technology and business development by contributing to proposals

Desired experience & qualifications:

· Minimum four years of experience in industrial process heating

· Strong analytical understanding of heat transfer equipment, steam, and thermodynamics

· Experience interfacing with piping, plumbing, and electrical construction tradespeople

· Advanced knowledge of ASME Standards, and regulations

· Oil & Gas experience

· Hands-on mechanical abilities

· Desire to work outdoors at project sites worldwide

· Proficient with AutoCAD; capable with Matlab or Python

· California Professional Engineer’s license (Other States possible)

· Design and performance calculations for HVAC systems.

· Experience in the maintenance and operation of industrial plants

· Chemical process systems involving corrosive, toxic, flammable, and explosive materials

· Utility systems including water, steam, compressed air, refrigeration

· Process and utility piping including two phase flow systems (steam/condensate, ammonia)

· Automation and control systems

· Project development and construction management

Education:

· M. S. or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering field.

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
