Job Description


The Senior Process Engineer will be a member of the RFID Global Platform team and report to the Director of NPD. This role requires a hands-on engineer capable of leading the development and commercialization of Avery Dennison’s Innovation technology platforms. The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for various projects including development of manufacturing processes for new products, new equipment development and installation, equipment upgrades, equipment validations and continuous improvement projects.

  • Lead process development projects from ideation to commercialization.
  • Work with commercial, product management, R&D and operations teams to develop manufacturing processes for new or for improving existing products; ensuring the process meets cost, performance, quality and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Develop project plans, risk analysis and timelines.
  • Creates project and machine specifications.
  • Work with vendors to create prototypes and generate proof-of-concepts, with an eye towards commercialization at scale.
  • Work with PLM and Commercial teams on market opportunities and cost analysis
  • Assist with the operations teams in obtaining capital approval and ordering machines.
  • Establish metrics to track project effectiveness and success
  • Create and lead the acceptance testing and sign-offs
  • Support Quality teams by helping create quality plans and SOPs
  • Support operations with process implementation, including documentation, training and on-going production support and troubleshooting.
  • Lead process improvement projects to optimize production processes and maximize cost savings

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • 7+ years of work experience in engineering, R&D and innovation
  • Innovative, Analytical, Detail Oriented mindset
  • Creative and resourceful problem solver
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Expertise in RFID manufacturing processes including roll to roll converting and printing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing PLC and visions systems
  • AutoCad experience required
  • Proven project management and leadership experience
  • Capable of working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to organize, plan and execute multiple tasks to strict timelines
  • Experience in process definition and documentation, creating SOPs
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Global travel will be required, approximately 50%
