HSC Research Core Labs are specialized laboratories providing access to advanced instrumentation and cutting-edge technologies along with technical support and expertise. The Research Associate will manage the daily operations of the new state-of-the-art Histology Core. The individual is expected to utilize their expertise to perform routine bench histology work while overseeing the regular maintenance of advanced scientific instrumentation and streamlining procedures to assist researchers with newly available techniques in HSC. The employee will be expected to liaise with team members from other Core Labs to provide quality service while working closely with students, faculty, and external clients.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Histology Core that include but not limited to processing biological samples, preparing tissue sections, staining and analyzing tissues, interpreting results, and training researchers.
  • Maintain advanced scientific instrumentation.
  • Stay up to date with new protocol developments (such as IHC, IF, and visium tissue transfer). Assist and advise researchers with experimental design and methods. Provide Histology service and resources to internal and external users.
  • Ensure accurate web-based scheduling and billing of services through the iLab platform.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree with experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing budgets relevant to research projects or equivalent combination of education and experience.
