POSITION OVERVIEW
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a Senior SCADA Engineer to provide telecommunications and electrical power systems, including design, installation, maintenance, administration, training, operations, and management for various transit / transportations design build projects.
DISTRICT OVERVIEW
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. LOCATION
This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and manages the technical aspects of highly complex rail and transit projects to ensure the delivery of cost-effective SCADA solutions that meet client technical requirements. This includes scope definition, design development, cost estimation, engineering support services during construction, safety certification and system integration support services, project closeout, etc.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for an integrated design and construction process leveraging industrial best practices and lessons leant.
- Train and develop junior staffs in applying SOPs in projects.
- Conducts studies and analyses of new technologies, equipment, and methods to develop more efficient engineering alternatives and present them to internal and external clients.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to support the entire organization for successful project delivery. This includes, but not limited to, peer review, develop technical white paper, site visiting and troubleshooting, attend technical meetings, factory and field test witness, etc.
- Any other technical and project management responsibilities assigned by supervisor or management team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degrees in engineering fields.
- 15+ years of telecommunications and electrical power systems experience specifically on major transit/transportation design build projects.
- This position requires an experienced candidate with extensive design experience with radio system, SCADA and Signal to support railroad operations that includes signaling, communications, traction power, overhead catenary, trackwork, fire alarm and station ventilation.
- Professional engineering license is preferred.
- Experience with New Jersey Transit or NY City Transit Authority construction of fiber networks supporting Communication and Signals to support rail operations is highly desirable.
- Strong communicate skills that ensure effective communication with internal and external clients, sub-consultants, and suppliers to support the successful delivery of complex rail electrification projects.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills in manage and mentor technical staffs working toward a common goal.
- Ability to develop junior staffs in both technical and project management skills.

Base Compensation: $141,484 - $166,000
