DESCRIPTION
The Verily Retinal Service combines an advanced camera with workflow software, making it easier for clinicians to conduct quality diabetic retinopathy screens. As a Software Engineer on the Retinal Service team, you’ll be responsible for helping architect, design and build the next generation of the Verily Retinal Service platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop and test software services and platforms for next-gen medical devices.
- Build a holistic system: there are many cross-cutting opportunities (e.g. image processing, ML, device management, security, and more).
- Design and develop software camera features.
- Work closely with data science, UX, hardware, application and system software engineers to create highly integrated, novel products.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience with 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience with Java, C++, or similar programming language.
- Linux system experience: able to design, develop, profile, and debug applications effectively across various Linux system layers.
- Willingness to learn/grow and respectfulness that allows colleagues to do the same.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Linux kernel stack, able to debug cross-platform data pipelines. Experience with embedded Linux and/or Linux device drivers, on ARM platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with building and deploying computer vision and on-device machine learning on bespoke devices. Experience of interfacing with cloud-based computer vision solutions is a plus.
- Experience with GPU-based technologies like CUDA, TensorRT, OpenCV, or ONNX, is a plus.
- Comfortable with building cloud-deployed data pipelines and web applications using GCP or similar platforms (like AWS or Azure).
- Experience working directly with end-users and customers.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000-$227,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
