Position Description:

The Senior Specialist-Operations is responsible for the following functions, which include, but are not limited to:

• Performs as Operator, role modeling best practices and providing coaching while conducting processes with the team.
• Provides technical leadership for the area processes, operational execution, troubleshooting, data analysis, and regulatory compliance.
• A coach/mentor who uses in-depth knowledge of the process and computer systems to drive variability reduction and process improvements.
• Provides developmental feedback information to operations management and lead the technical development of operating staff.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

Process Control:

• Daily monitoring of process which includes checking volumes, plotting data, inputting assay information and providing direction to operations on process control.
• Knowledgeable about the hazards of manufacturing processes; aware of and enforces safety/environmental policies/procedures.
• In-depth knowledge and capability with software packages used in the area.
• Daily responsibilities include tracking/investigating deviation events in event management system.
• Key contact for the area process and will be expected to work with the support groups (i.e.: maintenance, engineering, TS/MS, quality assurance, etc.) to resolve issues and implement changes.
• Compile and present monthly operations data.
• Active member of Process Team.
• Provide operations scheduling support as needed.

Technical Leadership:

• Technical leadership to understand, mentor, and support the daily operations.
• Have a high understanding of each process within the operations area, the deviation management system, and equipment maintenance.
• Educate the operators on the process and equipment; be familiar with operator performance management objectives and provide coaching and feedback on performance.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding personnel development activities and progress.

Process Improvements:

• The ability to promote and implement process improvements; including yield, quality, through put, and variability reduction.
• Participate/own improvement projects and utilize the change management system.
• Facilitate development and improvement of procedures and training programs.

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence or supervisor experience. Ability to influence others, conflict management skills, and be an effective team member.
• Speed and accuracy of fine hand manipulation and good eye-hand coordination.
• Must possess oral and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and quality mindset.
• Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.

Additional Preferences:

• Associate degree and previous exposure to aseptic technique and/or other lab sciences.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing training.
• Scientific aptitude and eagerness to learn.
• Must be task flexible, capable of multi-tasking, and willing to accept new assignments, projects and challenges as assigned by their leader.
• Display a positive attitude, leadership abilities, and a willingness to listen to other ideas and act appropriately.

• Weekend work is required.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clean room environment may apply.
• May be required to work in an area with exposure to potential allergens.
• Position may require a certain amount of heavy lifting (up to 60 pounds).
