Senior Supplier Quality Assurance Technician


Job Summary:

The Space and Defense Group Quality Assurance Team is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Technician to join our team to be proactive and preventative in our pursuit of 100% quality and 100% On Time Delivery.

This will be through the creation of and adherence to standard work related to Advanced Product Quality Planning including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Measurement System Analysis, Process Capability Studies, Production Part Approval Process, and Process Variation Reduction techniques.

This position will also be involved in applying problem solving and problem prevention tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, 8D, Fault Tree Analysis, mistake-proofing, Design of Experiments, and other advanced statistical tools.

The Sr. Supplier Quality Technician, under the technical direction of a Supplier Quality Engineer, implements inspection plans and/or evaluates major subcontractor performance. The incumbent performs the planning, implementation, and administration of supplier related activities. This individual will be working closely with suppliers to ensure that requirement flow downs are satisfied.

Selected candidates will be required to travel to domestic suppliers for approximately 50% of their time.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent (equiv. exp. is 4 additional yrs exp.)

AND

  • 6 years technical experience in manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, Assembly & Test, or Quality Related Field. Three years of this experience must be as a Quality Technician.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience with quality tools such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) per AS9145
  • Quality Management System knowledge with AS9100
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and advanced problem solving
  • Strong facilitative leadership and communication skills
  • Lean, six sigma, and/or ASQ certification desired, but not required

Mechanical and/or electrical inspection experience

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
