Senior Systems Analyst (Public Safety)

$68,453 - $102,690 per year

Full-Time, Benefits, Pension

The Position
Under the direction of the Information Technology Director, the Senior Systems Analyst -
Public Safety is responsible for performing advanced technical work with software and
hardware, maintaining systems, performing system problem solving, defining business
needs, performing project management, and serving as the technical expert for all Public
Safety systems. This includes technical analysis, design, installation, maintenance, and
modification of broad, complex computer systems. The Systems Analyst will analyze and
document technical requirements, design system architecture and data models, create
system specifications and user documentation, and oversee the development, testing,
and deployment of systems. They will also understand the business needs of an
organization and identify how technology can be used to solve business problems. They
will analyze and document business processes, gather and document business
requirements, and communicate these requirements. They may also perform feasibility
studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses. They ensure that systems are
aligned to meet the needs and requirements of the organization's overall strategy and
goals.

The Ideal Candidate
The Senior Systems Analyst will have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field. Two years related work experience, including program analysis and design. Experience with public safety systems is preferred. Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development. Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification.
