Job Title:Service Technician

Job Location:Charlotte NC

Duration: 2+ year (Contact to hire Possibility)

First Shift: Monday thru Thursday from 7:00 AM – 6:00PM

Provides all OQ training, certifications, uniforms, and equipment to perform the primary job functions.

Description

Primary Functions:

  • Physical ability to work in an outdoor environment, including, but not limited to: Walking, climbing, and stooping for up to 10 hours per day in all types of weather conditions.
  • Check existing meter, install replacement meter, and perform final meter test.
  • Replace gas regulator when necessary.
  • Collect data accurately and detail the installations from company-provided handheld device.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of safety and quality of work.
  • Ability to identify hazardous and abnormal operating conditions as it relates to gas meter sets.
  • Check and identify gas leaks on a meter set.
  • Ability to safely turn on and off customer gas supplies.
  • Proficient in gas appliance safeties and operations.
  • Shut down and relighting of gas appliances.
  • Use appropriate hand tools to remove and install new gas meters.
  • Meet daily installation goals, as established by the Project Manager.
  • Communicate and interact with utility customers in a professional manner.
  • Qualifications: Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Must pass the required OQ training, field evaluation, and obtain OQ certification.
  • Strong technical, written, and oral communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand tools requiring upper body forces up to 30 lbs.
  • Adhere to all Federal, State and Local driving requirements, company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA).

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • HVAC: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Hand tools: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Power tools: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
