Job description
- Measure and cut sheet metal for covering insulated surfaces, using hand tools.
- Fit sheet metal around insulation obstructions, and shape sheet metal and protective coverings as required.
- Apply, remove, and repair sheet metal on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
- Prepare surfaces for sheet metal installation application.
- Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage.
- Determine the amounts and types of sheet metal needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use.
- Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes.
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Remove or seal off old insulation, following safety procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
