Senior Services for South Sound is looking for a Shelton/Belfair Food Service Coordinator who’ll help prepare and serve food at the meal site for our Senior Nutrition Program in Shelton and Belfair, supporting our organization’s mission and exciting growth!

· Medical, Dental, and/or Vision if working 20 hours or more per week and employed for 60 days;
· Sick Leave in proportion to the FTE with up to 8 hours in a calendar month and no less than 1 hour for every 40 hours worked;
· Paid Vacation with accrual beginning on day 1 of employment at the 1-year level of service which provides up to 8 hours per month, is proportional to hours worked, and can first be taken after 6-months of employment; and
· Retirement: If the employee participates at the 3% level, the employer will match 3% into a retirement fund with eligibility for matching beginning after 6 months of employment.

What you will be doing:
We’re looking for a Shelton/Belfair Food Service Coordinator to help facilitate the organization’s Senior Nutrition Program (SNP) kitchen and dining room operation at the Shelton and Belfair sites and other related tasks as assigned.
Key outcomes:
The Food Service Coordinator:
● Helps prepare meals for congregate and homebound clients within menu perimeters and ensures that meals are healthy, tasty, attractive, economical, and of the correct portion.
● Ensures food safety practices are properly followed during all aspects of food preparation, storage, and service.
● Helps wash dishes and keeps the kitchen and dining rooms clean and tidy.
● Fills in for the Site Manager and Home Delivery Meal volunteer drivers as needed.
● Assists in supervising and training volunteers.
● Checks agency email daily and corresponds with staff in a timely and professional manner.
● Participates in staff meetings, in-service sessions, and other training sessions.
● Assists with annual fundraising events for SNP.
● Performs other duties as required.
What you will bring:
· Washington State Driver’s License; auto insurance coverage. Must possess or obtain a CPR/First Aid card. Must possess a Food Handler’s permit or obtain one within 30 days of employment and retain it at all times.
· GED or High School diploma.
· Knowledge of best practices of principles and processes for implementing and maintaining food safety practice and regulations.
· Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, food and kitchen safety, time management, food production, good judgment, operation monitoring, good communication, and quality control analysis skills.
· Information ordering, oral comprehension, and working effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred:
Applicants who also possess the following may receive additional consideration from the hiring manager:
● Culinary Arts Program graduate.
● 2+ years of institutional food preparation.
● Supervisory experience.
