SMP is seeking a motivated Shift Supervisor on 2nd shift (3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.)

SHIFT SUPERVISOR (Value Stream Leader)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

• As the Shift Supervisor (VSL) you will ensure operational safety, product quality, schedule attainment, machine availability, and cost reduction in an effort to assist plant operations in meeting business objectives.
• You will provide organization and leadership through multiple value streams on a single production shift.
• You are responsible for facilitating an environment of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in order to maximize asset utilization and minimize equipment unplanned downtime.
• You will ensure effective lean conversion across multiple value streams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure manufacturing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets are achieved every shift
• Assist Value Stream Manager in identifying opportunities for improvement and implementation of improvement plans
• Direct and supervise associates including scheduling all press assignments, breaks and vacation calendar
• Train team members (safety, quality, delivery)
• Provide effective associate relations within manufacturing by ensuring that employment practices are fair and consistent
• Assist Value Stream Manager with implementation of lean manufacturing tools & principles (i.e. Daily Gemba, 5S, standard work, TPM, SMED, etc.)
• Quality Checks and ensuring that all data such as MIR’s are documented timely and accurately
• Timely and accurate staging, delivery, removal and labeling of all production material to and from the production facility
• Any other tasks as assigned by the VSM

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Positive leadership skills
• Must have the ability to perform in a fast paced work environment
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend written English
• Ability to stand and dexterity of movement (bending/ turning) over eight hour shift
• Regular attendance is required
• Strong verbal communication
• Must successfully complete drug and background screening
• Leadership experience – minimum 1 year
• Training: approximately 2-4 weeks

Shifts: 2nd 3:30PM - 1200AM

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50 - $23.00 per hour

Experience:

• Plastics injection molding: 1 year (Preferred)
