The Shipping and Receiving Specialist position is responsible for creating shippers per customer requirements, staging, inspecting and labeling of all customer shipments, daily data entry, inventory organization, and proper routing of incoming shipments and rejects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred for this position to ensure and maintain customer satisfaction. All positions are responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative environmental impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions outlined in the training assessment for this position.

Essential functions:

  • Verifies method and mode of shipment for customer requirements. Prepares all documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Determine labeling requirements, assemble and pack product containers, prepare and affix bar code shipping labels to customer dunnage or stencils, identifying shipping information for cartons, skids, or other shipping devices in an accurate manner.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Must complete daily receiving entries in computer system and distribute paperwork appropriately.
  • Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them
  • Once certified, may be assigned to train, and support new Shipping and Receiving Specialists.

We are looking for someone with ability to obtain and maintain a fork lift license, has experience in logistics and advanced computer knowledge (SAP knowledge a plus). Highschool diploma or GED is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $18.68 - $22.50 per hour
