Position Summary

Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental is seeking a Shop Supervisor for the Aerial Department in Elk Mound, WI. This is a hands-on role responsible for the overall operations and housekeeping of the shop and shop equipment under the guidance of the Branch Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with comprehensive Benefits.

Essential Functions

• Supervises employees by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy shop environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
• Oversee the activities of subordinate employees with the proper service, repair and maintenance of heavy lift equipment and heavy duty trucks.
• Ensure the weld shop is organized in a manner that maximizes efficiency and productivity.
• Monitor and maintain all weld shop equipment.
• Troubleshoots, services and repairs products to meet manufacturer’s specifications, quality standards and productivity requirements.
• Manage running costs and maintenance overheads.
• Review, analyze and track maintenance measures.
• Inventory management.
• Assume responsibility for Service Department operations in the absence of the Weld Shop Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

• Must have valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Positive communications and interaction with other team members
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery
• Ability to work in conditions with marked changes in temperature & humidity
• Ability to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, and gases
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
