The Site Administrator will support on-site level 1 and level 2 technology needs in the Chicagoland area, and nationally as needed. Responsibilities include initial assessment, triage, research, and resolution of first and second level issues. Work in conjunction with the HelpDesk and Engineering teams as an on-site resource to help troubleshoot, implement, and deploy organization needed systems. Ensures customer satisfaction by providing support via telephone, email, in person, or remote-control support tools.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose hardware, software, and basic networking issues across all communication channels.
  • Basic user account administration in various systems (new users, user modifications, etc…)
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software as needed
  • Support desktop, laptop, and mobile systems, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Manage service queues and route tickets to IT Engineering or other teams as appropriate for higher tier support
  • Complete site-specific requests that require on premise smart hands
  • Troubleshoot network printing issues
  • Supporting, training and educating end-users on Microsoft Office 365 capabilities and collaboration tools (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
  • New user setup and orientation including installing and configuring workstations, software, telephone services, network printing, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair network and PC hardware/software problems for PC's, Laptops, printers/copiers and mobile devices for on-site and remote users.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, software installation, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined.
  • Team-player, work closely with the other IT team members. Able to work independently, with little to no supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and expand responsibilities
  • Occasional travel may be required

Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:

  • 3-5 years of IT service administration experience
  • BS in IT or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of servers and UPS battery management
  • Basic knowledge of server systems, software & hardware deployment tools, and networking protocols
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally may be required for this role.
