Job DescriptionThe ESOL English teacher is to collaborate as a member of a middle school team as a sheltered ESOL co-teacher. The ESOL teacher will co-plan and co-facilitate core subjects in order to develop Multilingual Learners language proficiency skills in a sheltered environment. The teacher is also responsible for teaching an English Language Development course. The teacher is responsible for incorporating research based second language acquisition strategies in the sheltered ESOL class along with following the Common Core Standards, NGSS, WIDA English Language Proficiency Standards, and High Quality Instructional Framework for MLL to Thrive.Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the content teachers to include research based second language acquisition strategies in the curriculum Assists content teachers with appropriately scaffolding materials and core curriculum with research based second language acquisition strategies.Implements districts MLL proceduresConducts annual WIDA Access assessment and other assessments mandated by the districtPlan and facilitate lessons incorporating second language acquisition skills in a sheltered ESOL English content class based on WIDA language proficiency skillsCommunicate with families of the English learnersImplement district initiativesParticipate in faculty meetingsMay have other responsibilities Perform other job related duties that are assigned by administrationThis position is for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year only.abouteureka.com is the go-to platform for job seekers looking for the best job postings from around the web.
