Job Summary
Responsible for all phases of a construction project. Designs, implements and leads project plans. Coordinate work through third party contractors and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Capable of resolving escalating issues arising from all phases of the project and requiring coordination with other departments, contractors and employees.
Essential Job Functions
1. Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external team members including staff, general contractor, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and other industry professionals
2. Maintain continuity of detail and communicate directly with all involved parties
3. Inspect work in place, work in progress and staffing to ensure same meets or exceeds quality, specification, and schedule requirements
4. Anticipates problems and works with staff, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and industry professionals to identify and implement corrective actions
5. Strong written and verbal skills with impeccable attention to detail
6. Thorough knowledge of industry practices and cognizant of many regulatory requirements to ensure project meets the requirements of the Village of Downers Grove, IL DNR, DoD & ATF, other third parties.
7. Establishes a project safety plan and ensures that it is communicated to all employees on the job site. Actively promotes and supports safety policies and monitors the job site for good safety practices. Establishes site security measures and monitors site access by subcontractors and others
8. Maintain budget & schedule related to project and assure adherence
9. Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
Requirements:
Qualification Requirements
1. Permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
2. Must be able to pass drug screen, background check and prove US citizenship under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.
3. Ability to analyze and evaluate construction documents including drawings, specifications and contracts
4. Requires a bachelor's degree of construction, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
5. Requires 7+ years of construction management experience for projects in a manufacturing setting.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and other industry computer applications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
