South Wales have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Best Interests Assessor to join the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team. This role has come about at a perfect time now that the BIA team are looking to expand and grow over the new year.
Job Duties:
To ensure the highest standards of service are provided to the residents of South Wales, Social Workers will ensure that:
- To complete applications to the Court of Protection seeking authorisations of deprivations of liberty. As a Best Interests Assessor these applications will be legally compliant with the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS).
- To formally record assessments to a high professional standard, that can withstand legal scrutiny.
- To support BIA colleagues in completing assessments providing guidance and advice as required.
- This post holder is responsible for ensuring that all Safeguarding Adults Policies are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies
Experience/Qualifications:
- Social work degree
- BIA qualification
