Interview process: 1 phone screen & 1 on Teams/Questions- how did you handle certain situations, technically how much do you understand about HVAC, automated testing and testing in general.
Type of project: This team works on the Residential side of Trane building software development on thermostats.
Selling point: Growth opportunities- as resource understands the applications and systems there is potential to move into a development role.
Reason why opened: Replacement of a contractor who reached tenure Team size: 5 people
Summary:
The autonomous test engineer will be responsible for helping create and maintain an automated test environment for HVAC equipment that will be used to test controls functionality in virtual geographic environments.
This role requires the ability to work effectively with HVAC hardware and software development, software test and product development.
This role also requires the ability to analyze HVAC data using different data analysis tools.
A background in HVAC applications is welcomed and preferred and will help resource to be successful.
Day to day:
80% manual testing on HVAC – migrating to 50/50 manual & automated Embedded controls systems Python & mobile app automation
Daily Responsibilities-
- Investigate and manage Lab Test Requests and keep reports on data analytics operations.
- Perform software updates and support Lab Test Requests Report software defects and validate software fixes Looking at test cases and Manuel working the cases upgrading software and running test Looking for ways to automate the test
MUST HAVE
High school diploma
Ideal candidate is someone who has some HVAC experience but HM will also consider new graduates or interns from HVAC companies Some experience in Python, have a Linux background and a understanding automated test framework Verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
NICE TO HAVE
Education/Experience: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
2-3 years of experience
Knowledge of HVAC, building control systems and devices a HUGE plus.
