Georgia-Pacific’s Advanced Engineering team is seeking a Solutions Architect to analyze, plan, organize, and lead technical strategy for our Intelligent Automation platform. You will collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, end users, and technologists to accelerate transformation initiatives in our technology capabilities that support manufacturing.


Our Team
The ideal candidate will have a background in designing decoupled, cloud-native software solutions that run in the cloud or at the edge and align with ecosystem designs. They will have experience designing solutions across IOT, OT, and traditional IT protocols and technologies. Some travel may be required for on-site workshops at manufacturing facilities (< 25%).


  • Design solution architectures for reusable components, including but not limited to alerting/notification, work orchestration, and monitoring
  • Partner with enterprise architects to develop roadmaps for implementation of strategic capabilities within the Intelligent Automation ecosystem, including:

o Defining API-led integration approaches to enable decoupling of systems and reduce complexity

o Engaging application owners and data teams in the process of defining and designing solutions

o Identifying critical functional and non-functional requirements to be provided and strategic components that can be leveraged in the Intelligent Automation space

  • Partner with tech leads and developers to make technology decisions and ensure the implementation supports the design
  • Identify training needs/opportunities in the team and broader organization based on ongoing delivery requirements/needs
  • Develop reference architecture patterns that can apply across their ecosystem(s) (and GP where appropriate)
  • Drive standardization of technologies and tools to the extent possible in the Intelligent Automation ecosystem, working within EA guidelines, to achieve enterprise simplification and reuse
  • Participate and drive thought leadership in overall Application and Integration Strategy efforts
  • Ensure solutions enable and support enterprise standards for security, compliance, app modernization, and cloud

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Proven experience architecting, engineering, supporting, and developing container solutions deployed in edge or cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of public cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code

  • Demonstrated understanding of domain-driven integration practices and supporting technologies/protocols

  • Demonstrated experience using DevOps and quality engineering practices to build in quality to the entire software lifecycle

  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and delivering end-to-end web-based solutions using decoupled architecture and modern front-end (such as React, Angular, Vue.js) and back-end (such as .NET Core, Node.js) frameworks
