South County Fire is a regional fire authority established in 2017 by voters in unincorporated southwest Snohomish County and the City of Lynnwood. We serve nearly 300,000 residents in a 57 square mile area of southwest Snohomish County in Washington state. The role of the Human Resources Director (HRD) is to assist the Fire Chief to accomplish the goals as set in cooperation with the Board of Fire Commissioners to create and develop ongoing successful labor management, forecasting, and strategic analysis for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion best practices. The HRD manages all aspects of the human resources operation and reporting functions of South County Fire (SCF) including employee relations, regulatory compliance, compensation strategies, policy review and development, recruitment, and benefits. The position reports to the Fire Chief and is a member of the administrative leadership team.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Human Resources Director with a minimum of 5 years experience or 10 years of demonstrated human resources experience in progressive HR roles and responsibilities. PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Candidates must have and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License and proof of insurance with acceptable driving record. Occasional travel to other local offices may be required. Travel outside local area may be needed to attend seminars or conferences. Candidates must pass a formal criminal background check as required by RCW 43.43.830.
This is a fulltime onsite role with an annual salary of $171,677.58 - $214,955.30 per year. SCF offers an excellent benefits package to include full medical, dental and vision insurance with 100% of the premium paid for employees, as well as 12 paid holidays and 12 vacation days per year. Life insurance premium is paid by SCF. Retirement, 457(b) plan, and other employee benefit programs are also available.
