We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team in Philadelphia for the 2023-2024 school year. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with disabilities in a K-8th grade setting.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in academic and functional skill areas
• Monitor and track student progress towards IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers and other school professionals to support student learning and progress
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and other meetings related to student progress and planning

More Details:

• K-8th with Autism (severe to profound) using AAC for communication, max students in a room would be 8
• M-F 8:30am- 2:30pm (6/5/23- 8/16/23)
• Familiarity with verbal behavior programming & the VB MAPP assessment is a plus and understanding of ABA principles

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education
• Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification
• Experience working with students with disabilities, specifically in a K-8th grade setting
• Knowledge of best practices in special education instruction and assessment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals
