The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the transportation and distribution of our products to customers, ensuring timely delivery and efficient use of resources. The incumbent will analyze existing processes and systems and will drive warehousing and transportation improvements which increase shipping accuracy, reduce product damage, and improve order-to-delivery cycle time - all of which ultimately make our company a top supplier and yield a competitive advantage.

The Logistics Specialist will work onsite at our Dahlonega facility.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate the scheduling and routing of trucks and other vehicles for the delivery of products to customers.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and invoices.
• Manage relationships with transportation providers, including negotiating rates, tracking performance, and resolving issues.
• Collaborate with production, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth and efficient order fulfillment and delivery.
• Support procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize transportation costs and improve delivery performance.
• Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to transportation and logistics, including safety, environmental, and customs regulations.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (i.e. Epicor), a plus;

• Proven ability to understand and deliver against customer expectations.
• Demonstrated ability to get results with and through people.

• Proficient in understanding/interpreting financials and proven experience in budgeting.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management
• Experience with truck sourcing, vendor negotiation, logistics modeling/analysis, process analysis/improvement, financial analysis of current and prospective carriers and modes.
• Thorough knowledge of/experience with LTL tariffs, classifications and pricing, understanding of railroad routing and billing, and experience with customs processes and regulations related to export and import of goods.
• Proficiency in logistics and transportation software, such as TMS and WMS.

Compensation for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set and level of experience. The annual salary for this role is $47,500 to $58,000 plus bonus and benefits.
