We are looking for a Sport Content Editor to join us at Liverpool.com focusing on but not limited to Liverpool FC to find and report on the stories and issues which matter to our sports fans in a way which ensures as many people as possible find, discover and respond to our work.

This role is a 6 month home based fixed term contract and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.
What will the role involve?
You will find and tell stories about Liverpool FC that engage readers while building communities online and audiences to share published stories with. In this role, you will be the public face of our coverage of Liverpool FC.
Telling stories which will be of interest to sports fans in different ways including live blogs, article format, short and long form video, audio and pictures. All while ensuring that every piece of content is researched and published in accordance with the Editor’s Code of practice.
Working as part of a team to help with content creation for social media and newsletter output while driving interest in newsletters and coming up with new creative ways to drive traffic to our sites and grow our audiences.
You will use analytics and tools to establish which content engages our audiences while engaging with readers on our online commenting system along with monitoring the competitive landscape to identify trends - and communicate findings.
Who are we looking for?
An experienced journalist with your NCTJ or equivalent qualification and media law knowledge, you have a strong track record of telling stories accurately, that engage large audiences with a real passion for digital storytelling. You also know everything there is to know about Liverpool FC and share the fans' passion for them. You’re flexible, inquisitive and are on the pulse of what makes a great story!
Being a sports journalist you will have encyclopaedic sport knowledge, Digital publishing and Social media experience. You’re comfortable working a content management system (CMS), live blogging, podcasting and have an understanding of audience analytics while having a track record of building communities on social media platforms such as but not limited to Facebook and Twitter.
You will have demonstrable experience of understanding trends and patterns of online life and interactions with other users along with being comfortable on camera or behind a microphone in order to create both short and long form video content.
