Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated Sr. Accountant to join our growing team! The right candidate will have previous accounting experience along with strong analytical skills. The position will be in Jasper, IN, but primarily support our Louisville operations. We offer a 5-day work week, health insurance, and a 401K plan. Responsibilities
- Lead financial close including calculating and posting daily, weekly, and monthly transactions
- Complete monthly GM financial statement according to manufacturer guidelines
- Review financial accounts and schedules; review income statements & balance sheets
- Post vehicle deal accounting and calculate related commissions; work with sales reps, as needed
- Post lease billings and perform monthly reconciliation and analysis of unit margins
- Maintain fixed asset database
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and file sales, use, tire, and rental tax returns
- Work with sales and operations to ensure manufacturer accounts are current and accurate
- Monitor cash flow to ensure daily cash needs are met
- Streamline processes and procedures; drive improved analytical tools
- Foster teamwork across all departments
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business
- 2-3 years in accounting position preferred; office environment experience preferred
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to meet deadlines
- Good computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Excel
