POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARYThis is a legal position that will support the Company with heavy involvement in employment, privacy and contracts. The position will have significant interaction with corporate and field management and outside counsel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Handle employment litigation, pre-litigation claims, and all related matters. Manage all aspects of employment matters including fact-finding and analysis, e-discovery, witness preparation, depositions, case management conferences, motion practice, and arbitration or trial preparation and presentation.
Respond to and resolve regulatory related charges and inquires.
Advise Human Resource and Operations on day-to-day advice and counsel issues, such as terminations, reasonable accommodations, and organizational matters.
Analyze new privacy laws, regulations, enforcement, and litigation trends to determine potential adverse impact on business operations with respect to key areas of responsibility, and present findings and recommendations.
Negotiate, review, and draft a wide variety of general and strategic corporate and transactional agreements, including marketing and sales agreement and privacy and data protection provision of agreements.
Work with other departments and outside counsel on matters to analyze issues and develop and implement cost effective business and legal strategies.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency with Microsoft products including but not limited to Word, Excel and Power Point.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to identify and assess issues and provide legally sound recommendations consistent with good business practices. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external constituencies. Demonstrate the ability to perform well quickly and under pressure. Individual should show initiative and advanced people skills in team problem solving situations.

LOCATION: Position is based in the corporate office (Charlotte, NC).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice in at least one jurisdiction. Minimum seven years of experience at a law firm or in house.
