The Headlines :
In the role of Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician working in Watertown, WI, you will be a technical expert in all power distribution and control systems. Identification of and completion of projects that will improve the Safety, Quality, and efficiency of plant operations. Plant technical ownership and execution of regulatory programs including, but not limited to, NFPA 70e. Assist in daily operations activities as determined by the business (Maintenance Based Operations). Active participant in team meetings and activities both internal and external to the daily business.

This position reports to Sr Mgr Opr and Sales - Watertown Hops.

The Responsibilities:
  • Process Operation - Control and monitor multiple processes including processes covered by OSHA’s Process Safety Management Standards.
  • Packaging - Package (fill, seal, label, palletize, stretch-wrap, warehouse) liquid hop extracts in standard containers.
  • Material Handling – Warehouse and forklift operation, loading and unloading to racks (direct materials, bulk chemicals, finished products, etc.)
  • Maintenance – Preventive and predictive maintenance of mechanical equipment. Breakdown support, and troubleshooting. GMP responsibilities for plant sanitation and facility maintenance.
  • Projects – Identification of and completion of projects that will improve the Safety, Quality, and efficiency of plant operations.
  • Misc - Utilities support/monitoring (boiler, compressor, water softener, etc.) Product sampling. Process Safety Management (PSM) employee participation.

The Other Qualifications:
  • You have at least 5 years operations experience in manufacturing environment; preferably in chemical processing.
  • High School Diploma and Electrician journeyman’s card required or equivalent associate degree or professional certification in a technical field. Experience working in Food & Beverage or batch Chemical Industry is strongly preferred.
  • Training and/or strong experience with operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and process control systems/instrumentation common to food & beverage industry including tanks, agitators, pumps, valves, filtration equipment, and heat exchangers, as well as associated utilities.
  • Ability to learn and apply the highest standards of plant hygiene, quality control (GMP, HACCP), safety (PSM), and environmental regulations.
  • You are comfortable with computer systems and be able to demonstrate such proficiency.
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.
