Job description
We are hiring a
Senior Network Engineer to design and implement the hardware and software needed to support the Steelcase data network. This includes the design of the network architecture, generating the specifications for all the hardware & software, and configuration and installation of the network components.
What you will be doing:
Manage projects with many tasks and coordinate multiple resources for large network projects- Monitor network performance and implement appropriate tuning operations
- Provide troubleshooting operations for network performance and connectivity problems
- Use various analyzers, monitoring and troubleshooting software packages and other hardware and software-oriented tools to diagnose and correct problems
- Work with Application developers to monitor the network utilization of new business applications or major changes to existing applications, prior to the changes or new applications getting put into production
- Analyze network security and make recommendations to minimize network security risks
Components for this job include, but are not limited to:
Proficiency with Cisco routers. Routing, MPLS, QoS, VoIP, Gateways, ACL’s (must)- Proficiency with Arista and/or Cisco switching platforms. Vlans, QoS, subnetting (must)
- Working knowledge of Cisco CAPWAP wireless infrastructure including but not limited to AirOS and IOS-XE software platforms. Flexconnect, Cisco DNAC/DNAS, Wireless Controllers. (preferred) Arista Wireless Cloudvision CUE (plus)
- Cisco VoIP infrastructure knowledge. UCCX, Contact Center, CallManager, Unity. (must)
- SD-WAN/Aruba-SilverPeak infrastructure. (plus)
- Experience with IT monitoring and management tools. (plus)
- Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum. (plus)
- Experience following up with ISP Carriers. (must)
- Basic understanding of DNS management. DDI, DNS, DHCP, IPAM (preferred), Infoblox (plus)
- Experience with enterprise infrastructures (preferred)
- At least 5 years of experience (must)
- Availability to travel
- Availability to work afterhours or within weekends if required.
- CCNA (preferred) CCNP (plus)
Who you are:
You know about physical layer infrastructure and environmental requirements for a data and voice communication networks- You know about installation, configuration and management of components that make up the implementation of a data and voice communications network
- You can understand various network protocols in operation of a communications network
- You obtain relevant knowledge pertaining to, naming conventions and relevant protocol and wiring standards knowledge
- Understand PMO methodologies to design and architect the logical & physical network components necessary to adapt a data/voice communications network to changing requirements
- Aware of industry trends and new technologies assisting in network architecture planning
- Interoperability requirements between data/voice communication networks and other information technologies such as server, desktop, database, and telecommunications
- Do you have good interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to work well in a team environment?
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience- At least 5 years of experience (must)
- Experience with Global companies (must)
- CCNA training/certification (preferable)
- CCNP training/certification (plus)
- Availability to work afterhours or within weekends if required
- Availability to travel
