Position Summary:

Dexcom is searching for a Sr. Staff Program Manager to drive Software development of high-impact product development initiatives in the Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) space. A successful candidate has a proven ability to lead a diverse, cross functional, team through the various product development stages in the Med Tech, IVD or related field and has honed an ability to influence, and resolve competing priorities at various levels in a growing business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Leads cross functional teams through a medical device product development lifecycle (from concept to FDA filing and subsequent commercialization).
  • Leads the team through Phase Gate and other Go/No-Go decisions by executive leadership, ensuring that decisions are informed by a balanced and clearly articulated representation of the relevant data.
  • Responsible for synthesizing the project work breakdown structures, schedules and project risk into an integrated plan.
  • Manages the roles, responsibilities, goals and deliverables for core and extended team members and partner with functional leaders to ensure appropriate Core Team resources are setup for success and delivering on objectives.
  • Defines, plans, and manages program resources through partnership with functional managers.
  • Create and foster team dynamics for high performance

Business and Financial Acumen

  • Ensures alignment of product value proposition and business objectives to the project scope and plan.
  • Leads program planning process ensuring marketing and product requirements are driven by customer needs.
  • Accountable for developing and managing to a project budget including capital expenditure, expenses and headcount.
  • Links project goals and objectives to commercial and financial outcomes

Innovative Self Starter

  • Critically thinks about the big picture and generates novel ideas for defining, implementing and bringing to market new products, technologies and services.
  • Constructively challenges team and the organization on assumptions in technical designs and commercial excellence reviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams through a medical device product development lifecycle. Requires a thorough understanding of all functional work streams in a phase gate process and ability to distill functional complexities into an integrated project vision and plan.
  • Strong horizontal and vertical communicator. Represents self and program with an executive presence. Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills along with effective meeting management and group facilitation abilities.
  • Demonstrates a high level of business acumen integrated across finance, marketing, sales, service, R&D and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence people and teams at all levels without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated analytical, decision making, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts and ambiguity to drive clarity and deliver results.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Relevant experience in new product development within the regulated medical industry.
  • Experience in Med Tech, IVD or Pharmaceutical industries developing electromechanical devices and software systems is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with typical Project management and collaboration tools preferred (eg MS Project, Confluence/Jira, etc.)

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Masters degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience of a PhD and 5+ years of experience.

Exempt Salary Details

  • The annual base salary range for this role is $141,800 to $236,400. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
