Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states.
We are now hiring a Staff Accountant to assist the Controller, Assistant Controller, and Accounting Supervisors with the month end close and to provide accurate and timely reporting and reconciliation of month end results. The Staff Accountant will complete initial training out of our Headquarters in Princeton, NJ or one of our offices in Lawrenceville, NJ and then transition to our newly developing office in Newtown, PA within the first 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Approval of Accounts Payable invoices for assigned regions.
- Completes monthly bank reconciliation as assigned.
- Prepares and data enters general journal entries monthly/quarterly (as necessary).
- Analyzing and monitoring of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Reviews semi-monthly payroll for validation of allocations and budget.
- Prepares grants/contracts billing and assists with billing inquiries.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly variance reports for internal management reporting.
- Prepares monthly/quarterly/annual cost reports as required by funding sources.
- Prepares, enters, and maintains budgets in NetSuite.
- Prepares monthly expense allocations and enters in general ledger.
- Orders and monitors PEX, grocery cards for assigned regions.
- Orders and monitors Divvy card transaction activity for assigned regions.
- Preparation and submission and payment of sales taxes.
- Prepares and provides account reconciliations for compliance and annual audits.
- Prepares FTE reports for each payroll cycle.
- Monitors and prepares monthly Vacancy Report for state(s).
- Prepares and monitors monthly PNA, Room and Board schedules.
- Reviews and approves T&E reports via InterplX web browser software.
- Maintains contractual and general ledger files in an organized fashion.
- Prepares required documents for local, state, and federal government agencies.
- Prepares applications for tax exemption status as needed.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- AAS in Accounting and two to three years related experience; or
- BS in Accounting or related field from accredited education institution (or equivalent)
- 2-5 years of related general accounting experience.
- Demonstrated capability with budget development and fiscal reporting.
- Strong analytic and reasoning ability.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the company and vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with NetSuite and/or other ERP procurement systems.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, a self-starter who can function independently, and as part of a team.
- Excellent client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding relationships.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
