To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you might be a good fit for this role. - Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
- Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
- Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
- Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
- In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
- Strong familiarity with Process Vendor Invoices
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
- Current and relevant ERP system experience
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
