Job description
The Test Technology Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is looking for an individual to support field testing with the engineering/scientific staff at our Kirtland Air Force Base, Applied Moriarty Range (AMR), and White Sands Missile Range locations. The candidate will be supporting fabrication of structures and test articles, which includes welding, carpentry, machining, concrete placements, heavy equipment operations and surveying.
The candidate should have a background in general construction and knowledge of best practices for various site projects.
Other duties to include general test support site set up, clean up, and various related duties, as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Critical thinking and the ability to employ best solution practices.

Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years in the general construction field or equivalent
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Ability to understand directions, design drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance; US citizenship is required.
- 25% Traveling
Desired Skills:
- 50T Crane operation (ability to obtain certification)
- Survey experience
- OSHA training
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) certified (ability to obtain certification)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull equipment up to 50.
- Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
- Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Able to wear a respirator-Fit test for Air Purifier, Half – face and Full-face respirator.
