This is a grant funded position expected to expire on December 31, 2024. The individual hired for this position will be required to sign a waiver of retention rights

This position will have remote and hybrid workplace options available but will still be required to report to the listed address at the discretion of the supervisor and based on business need.

The salary range for this position:
$2,555.54 - $3,011.54 Biweekly
$5,537.00 - $6,525.00 Monthly
$66,444.00 - $78,300.00 Annually
The Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC or “the Council ”), is a business-led council representing business, economic development, education, workforce and government throughout Colorado. The CWDC is the State Workforce Development Board for Colorado. The CWDC Office is the work unit that supports the Council and is housed in CDLE for administrative efficiencies, however it exists to support all state agencies related to economic development, education and workforce in achieving excellence in service delivery to business, including effective and efficient government policies and elimination of unnecessary barriers (red-tape) that negatively affect business’s ability to thrive and create jobs in Colorado.

This Council Office exists to provide strategic, administrative, technical, and logistical support to the Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC), its sub-committees and its task groups, as well as the Business Experiential Learning Commission. The unit administers and/or collaborates on the federal Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA), and statewide workforce system programs, grants, and initiatives. The unit represents and makes recommendations to the Governor on issues related to WIOA and other workforce issues. The unit facilitates collaboration among state agencies and partners to ensure effective and efficient leveraging of resources and to help reduce redundancy, including managing the support needed to ensure the success of this collaboration of partners and agencies. The CWDC work unit carries out the recommendations and work plans mandated by the CWDC members according to the rules and 1 regulations of the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment (CDLE).

As a member of the stimulus programs team, the Consultant will play a key role in supporting the economic recovery of Colorado from the COVID-19 pandemic. The position will serve as a project manager for statewide initiatives identified by the CWDC and is accountable for the execution of projects and distribution of funds from HB21-1264. The position will have oversight of projects involving industry partners, sector partnerships, employers, and the entities that support these stakeholders, providing key support to all partners involved. With the support of a project coordinator, the Consultant will be responsible for successful achievement of deliverables, reporting data on all programs to leadership, and innovating as needed to realize results.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Substitutions:
Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year
basis.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.

AND

Three years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position to include: Acting as a project manager in the fields of business or operations. Performing strategic project planning/change management across multiple units/cross functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Understanding of AGILE project methodology
  • Previous experience performing alike duties as a State of Colorado classified employee.
