As the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Pharma on our CVS Media Exchange (CMX) business, you’ll chart the course for expansion of the fast-growing retail media arm at the 4th largest company in the US. CMX is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for customers, advertisers and the CVS business. Our full-funnel ad solutions harness the power of CVS in-store and online data, using extensive reach and robust customer/patient understanding to provide increased efficacy for our clients. With a vast portfolio of assets brought to life through flexible pricing and buying models, CMX creates solutions that help advertisers build brand awareness and drive action.

CVS Media Exchange is seeking an experienced Director of Strategic Partnerships to help lead our pharma initiative, autonomously augmenting our pharma offering and owning large pharma client/agency relationships.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic, creative thinker with the demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions for partners and CVS. The candidate will have experience working within a matrix organization as well as leading, coaching and influencing people. Candidates must have strong consultative sales skills with C-suite leaders, a collaborative and innovative spirit, and be extremely comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

In addition, we are looking for high-caliber talent that has a strong background in building and executing complex partnership in the heavily regulated pharma space at scale. This individual will be the point person for continued expansion of media monetization with pharma clients, a venture with aggressive growth expectations and significant company exposure.



What you'll do...

  • Drive our monetization strategy with pharma clients & agencies through maturation of our CMX offering and ownership of c-suite level pharma relationships
  • Partner with pharma trade, legal, analytics, and marketing teams to create lucrative large pharma packages/partnerships that include but span beyond digital media and represent true win-win scenarios
  • Lead complex negotiations and execution strategy that bring these identified partners to fruition, delivering monetization value to the CVS business, enhancing patient journeys and driving value for pharma partners
  • Own topline relationships with pharma agencies, developing best practice WOW and establishing holding company MSAs that enable seamless transaction with CMX
  • Proactively identify strategic enhancements to our product, targeting, measurement and overall offering that unlock significant value for pharma advertisers. Navigate legal approvals and setup of executional pathways to bring to market with speed and efficiency.
  • Own expectations management, pharma offering roadmap, and progress reporting with high level CVS cross-functional leadership, including c-suite
  • Manage a team of two with plans for future expansion. Create a positive team culture and showcase best-in-class talent development, setting the foundation for team growth as our startup matures.


This role is work at home flexible. It can be based remotely in the U.S. or near one of our Corporate Hubs. If you are commutable to one of the following Corporate Hubs, you must work in the office 2 or more days a week: Wellesley, MA, Woonsocket, RI, Hartford, CT, Buffalo Grove, IL, Northbrook, IL, Scottsdale, AZ, Irving, TX, or New York, NY.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 100,000
Maximum: 227,000

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant business experience across, but not necessarily exclusive to, business development, sales, marketing, product and partnerships
  • 6+ years of cross-functional leadership including demonstrated examples of bringing large partnerships / solutions to market in concert with several internal teams
  • 4+ years of strategic partnerships or business development experience in the pharma or other highly regulated industry, including examples of negotiating complex deals
  • 4+ years of digital media experience, including a strong understanding of what pharma advertisers and agencies find lucrative
  • Experience partnering with legal teams to complete agreements and navigate extensive legislation around data usage and digital media best practice
  • Experience co-creating innovative new offerings in the media space in collaboration with product, analytics and legal teams
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including regular trips to Woonsocket, RI and New York, NY offices

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills that can effectively articulated in both written and oral forms across a diverse audience base
  • Self-motivated, high-capacity individual who can function and win in a demanding, performance-driven environment. Ability to adapt easily and thrive in a startup environment.
  • Experience building out and managing high performing teams, including a deep focus on positive culture creation and career development.
  • Established relations and strong rolodex with pharma industry players at top leadership / c-suite levels
  • Experience with loyalty data, pharmacy data, and/or look-alike modeling
  • Experience in traditional consulting, retail media, and/or brand advertising in a large pharma company

Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (HS Diploma and 4 years
of experience) required

MBA or Master’s Degree in Marketing / Advertising preferred
