The Director of Strategy & Development will work as a member of the Strategy & Development Team of the CRH Americas Materials South Division. The Director will report to the VP of Strategy & Development. The role will collaborate with Region Presidents, Business Unit Leaders and other members of the Senior Leadership Team across CRH on various strategy development initiatives and acquisition projects.
This role can based remotely in the Southeastern U.S. in a major city location: examples: Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, New Orleans, Knoxville, Austin, Dallas....etc.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the position include:
Lead and support the process to refine the Divisions’ strategy and development plans- Analyze multiple markets and strategic acquisition/growth opportunities, divestitures, and green fields
- Build rapport internally across the organization and externally among the leaders of potential acquisitions, industry influencers and other consultative entities, ensuring strong partnerships and a robust pipeline of potential acquisitions
- Build analytical models and perform financial analysis to value acquisition opportunities, providing clear explanations and make well-founded recommendations to leadership
- Manage the end-to-end acquisition (M&A) process including strategic fit, business assessment, due diligence, valuation, contract negotiation, legalities, integration and post-closing issue resolution
- Act as a thought partner for senior leaders who seek input on key strategic and acquisition decisions
- Partner with the Americas Materials and CRH Development Group to coordinate and align M&A strategy and facilitate the acquisition process
- Lead special projects
Education/Experience
The educational and experience requirement of the position include:
Bachelor’s degree (Business, Finance, Mining, Engineering or another technical field)- Experience in building materials and/or construction a plus
- Experience in corporate development, consulting in a manufacturing or industrial environment, investment banking or private equity

- Business acumen in manufacturing, distribution and/or construction operations including understandings in sales, marketing, engineering, multi-unit operations, finance, purchasing, information technology, legal and regulatory compliance

- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills
- Listening skills
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Solid coaching, mentoring and team-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify, foster and strengthen relationships with all constituents
Additional Requirements
Travel approximately 30% with brief periods of up to 80%
