Student Experience and Engagement Manager (Part time)
Job description
Libraries Strategy & Planning
We have an exciting opportunity for a Student Experience and Engagement Manager to join our Strategy and Planning section - a small and friendly team who work within the Libraries department at the University of Nottingham.
Across the university we have eight different Libraries and employ over 200 people. We know that a team made up of a wide range of groups and backgrounds produces better solutions and a supportive workplace. Therefore, we are particularly keen to receive applications from groups who are currently underrepresented within our team, such as people from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic backgrounds or those with a disability.
As department lead for student engagement, you will contribute to understanding and enhancing the experience of students, delivering student-focussed engagement activities which capture the student voice and inform planning on how we can improve our library services. You will build effective working relationships with student experience specialists in schools and faculties and use a number of mechanisms to provide Libraries with consistent and relevant feedback. You will also be responsible for the organisation and delivery of engagement events for students.
This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours are part time (21.75 hours per week). This equates to three full days, although there is flexibility in terms of how you work these hours between Monday and Friday. You will be based at our Kings Meadow Campus and your work could involve working across our different campuses. We currently have a hybrid working arrangement where you will be expected to spend a minimum of two days pro rata in the office or on campus. Working arrangements can be discussed with your line manager during the interview process. You will ideally have experience in a similar role, although this does not have to be in a university environment.
We are committed to providing competitive employment packages that support your well-being and help you reach your full potential. You will have access to a benefits package, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and highly attractive pension scheme.
Don’t meet every single requirement? We encourage you to apply anyway as we know that a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace is not only a better place to work but also produces higher-quality solutions. If you are excited by the opportunities of this role, but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, you should still apply; you may be just the right candidate.
We expect to conduct interviews on Wednesday 18 January 2023.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Roz Kelly via email at r.kelly@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
