Student Van Driver
Our team is searching for a student van driver to transport 12-15 students Monday-Friday. Your responsibilities will include transporting 12-15 students to and from their respective HISD campuses (Yates HS, Wheatley HS, Worthing HS, Sterling HS) to Jones Futures Academy. Please note that this bus route may be subject to change and include additional bus route pick up and or drop off locations.
In this role you will oversee/assist with:
- Drives vans/buses for the purpose of transporting students in a safe and timely manner.
- Morning pick-up times (7:00am-9:15am) / Afternoon Shift (2pm-4:30pm)
- Obey traffic laws
- Assist students (i.e.: seating, restraints, special equipment, etc.) for the purpose of providing safe loading and unloading from vehicles including both emergency situations and normal transport.
- Monitors passengers during transit for the purpose of maintaining order and ensuring the safety of passengers.
- Fuels vans for the purpose of maintaining the bus in a safe operating condition.
- Informs Director of Operations of incidents (i.e.: mechanical issues, incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency, etc.) for the purpose of providing information for follow-up action and/or proper procedures.
- Maintains cleanliness of vans, both interior and exterior for the purpose of ensuring safety, appearance, and sanitation of the vehicle.
- Drivers may be asked to support with transportation to field lessons or off-site programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Have a valid, non-expired, Texas Driver’s License.
- Pass fingerprinting and background check.
- Have a clean driving record.
- Experience transporting children and youth.

Hours of Dedication:
Mondays to Fridays - (7:00am-9:15am) / Afternoon Shift (2pm-4:30pm)
Terms of Compensation:
As a Morning/Afternoon Driver, you are an Independent Contractor. Eight Million Stories, Inc. will pay you $21/hour. You will also be eligible to work additional shifts at the same rate of $21/hour. Company vehicles, gas, and maintenance/service are the responsibility of Eight Million Stories, Inc.
