Journeys DDA is a developmental disability agency located in Eastern Idaho. We support children and adults with disabilities by working on individualized goals with them, while doing engaging and age appropriate activities. These activities take place in their natural environments because we believe they should be included in all of the typical things your typical person would be a part of.

Every summer we have a summer work program that supports teenagers with developmental disabilities. In this program for one week they learn about job etiquette, interviews, how to deal with emotions at work, communication skills, etc. After this first week they are place at their very first job and usually it is a job that sparks their interest and that they have skills for. They attend this job with a mentor who is there to be an extra support for them by helping to stay on task, give reminders, transition from one task to the next, assist with emotions, and communication.

We are looking for coordinator to over see this program in the Pocatello region. This person would teach the initial class at the beginning of each session and help to ensure the program is running smoothly.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Teaching job skills class every session
  • Schedule clients with their job coach
  • Fill in for job coaching shifts when needed
  • Collect data sheets
  • Review and submit payroll
  • Diffuse situations
  • Communicate with families, clients, staff, and businesses
  • Communicate required information to director

Qualifications:

  • 18 years old or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willing and able to complete a background check
  • Leadership skills

This is a seasonal position that will start training for in mid May and will go until the middle of August.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
