Sunday Older Adult Center Program Aide
Job description
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator to build a positive environment and welcoming community.
- Candidate should perform duties in a way that exhibits cultural sensitivity and attention to individual students' needs.
- Report to work as scheduled and on time.
- Ensure that the facility is clean and set up for lunch and classes.
- Greet members upon arrival
- Monitor sign in sheets and collection of member contributions.
- Organize and maintain sign in sheets and flyers for scheduled activities
- Assist with lunch service as needed.
- Exhibit enthusiasm and direction to program attendees.
- Work closely with a support staff member (Program Coordinator & Kitchen staff) in the preparation, facilitation, and clean-up of programs.
- Oversees and ensures the proper use of program space.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience especially with older adults preferred
- At least a high school diploma – college degree or training certificate strongly preferred
- Proven ability to exercise judgment and sound decision making
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak professionally to participants, and staff members
- Experience working in a multicultural, urban community
- Bilingual English/Spanish a preferred
- Experience promoting the intellectual, social, cultural, and emotional well-being of members
- Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at time of hire.
SCHEDULED:
- Part-time; Sundays
- 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- $18 per hour
