Overview / Responsibilities:

Wood is currently sourcing for a Millwright Superintendent to join our team in Ville Platte, LA. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activity of workers, predominantly from the Millwright craft to ensure that work is done safely, correctly, and timely.


Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.


Responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the day-to-day field operations to achieve the scheduled progress of the work in the assigned areas and for the assigned crafts and subcontractors. A typical scope of responsibility would be Field Superintendent or Area Superintendent.

Skills / Qualifications:
  • Has worked as a Millwright for typically ten years, three to five of which should be in a supervisory role
  • Have a detailed understanding of construction scheduling
  • Understand cost control and be able to implement successfully
  • Above average computer skills in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
  • Follow oral and written directions
  • Comprehend blueprints, sketches and plans
  • Plan work and activities
  • Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Accurately apply mathematical skills
  • Compare and see differences in size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects
  • Reading and writing skills
  • Recognize and report safety hazards
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds
  • Work at heights without fear
  • See well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors
