The Medical Acute unit is a 36-bed Medical Acute/Telemetry unit. As Supervisor, Patient Care RN, you will ensure nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Under the general directions of the Patient Care Manager, you will share leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans. Ensure the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.
This is a Full-Time Exempt position working Night shift position located at Scripps Mercy San Diego.
Required Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Two (2) years applicable clinical RN experience, one (1) of which in leadership.
- Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
- Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.
- Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current CA RN
- License Current BLS through American Heart Association
Preferred Education/Course(s)/Training:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- One (1) year recent leadership experience in an acute care experience in Medical Acute highly preferred.
