As Patient Transportation Supervisor, you will:

  • Act as a technical resource for team members.

  • Collaborate with management to achieve the organizational goals.

  • Facilitate departmental goals for team members.

  • Perform a variety of activities related to the transportation of patients and equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises patient transportation employees in daily operations.
  • Maintains staffing levels, approves and schedules paid time off and leave requests.
  • Provides leadership and training.
  • Coordinates and provides orientation and education.
  • Analyzes workflow and procedures. Identifies and implements opportunities to improve procedures, processes, speed, quality and effectiveness.
  • Ensures cross coverage.
  • Develops effective work team. Encourages and supports morale building activities and positive attitudes.
  • Communicates with employees and provides orientation on policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follows Hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
  • Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree in related field preferred.

Certifications:

  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Knowledge of supervision, training/development and public relations practices.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to take appropriate action in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager or year of supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Patient Transportation experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires dexterity sufficient to operate a computer.
  • Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
