Job Description:
The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) is accountable for sourcing, quality, execution, and cost management in the Americas Supply Chain for purchased major engineered components (also known as Balance of Plant - BoP) which are required to be integrated with Solar Turbines industrial gas turbine packages. Additionally, the SCM is accountable for procurement activities supporting an internal industrial fabrication business located in Houston, TX.
This position reports directly to the America's Supply Chain Area Manager and is accountable for the execution of the regional BoP sourcing strategy. The SCM collaborates with Global BoP Supply Chain Managers in the EAME and Asia-Pacific regions as well as Business Unit Managers to create a competitive advantage for our customers and the enterprise by developing, optimizing, and integrating a world-class supply base.
The SCM will maintain and promote the highest level of professionalism, business ethics and engagement, while developing and maintaining relationships with internal clients, key suppliers, provide coaching and development opportunities for direct reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the enterprise and suppliers.
Reporting directly to this position are approximately five to ten supply chain professionals which can include Sourcing Specialists, Buyers, Supplier Technical Engineers and Supply Chain Coordinators.
This position will be based in Houston, TX and may require frequent business travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • International Sourcing or related experience
  • Strong Negotiation, Communication & Interpersonal Skills
  • Demonstrated Success in Leadership & Employee Development
  • 5 Years of Procurement or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Certification in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management
  • Solar Product and BoP technical knowledge
  • Experience Engaging Customers and/or Business Partners from Diverse Cultures
