Peerless Pump Company, a leading USA pump manufacturer and Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planner to join its Supply Chain Department.

This position reports directly to the Materials Manager will operate daily out of the Indianapolis facility.


Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

This position will be part of the Peerless Pump Supply Chain Planning and Tactical Purchasing Team, with overall responsibility for all tactical purchase and production activities, supporting a MTO/ETO pump manufacturing facility. Together with the rest of the Supply Chain Function, the Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for ensuring purchased & in-house manufactured materials are available and on time to customer expectations, in a financially responsible way. The Supply Chain planner will be required to perform various detailed administrative duties that require daily attention.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


Responsible for the completion of daily tasks effecting purchase & production order performance including, but not limited to

  • Issue purchase and/or production orders in SAP
  • Follow up on demand vs supply
  • Follow up on daily MRP signals and initiate actions accordingly
  • Work with vendors and production to ensure on time execution and delivery
  • Reconcile supply/vendor related discrepancies

  • Execute daily MRP transactions in SAP to ensure supply chain integrity and on-time delivery of purchased and in-house produced parts
  • Interact with suppliers to communicate delivery expectations and ensure suppliers meet confirmed delivery
  • Solicit quotes from approved source list
  • Ensure accurate material master data.
  • Proactively avoid material shortages
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies affected by pricing or delivery issues
  • Involved in the resolution of defective or unacceptable goods or services, or delayed delivery of goods from vendors with Quality department
  • Maintain positive vendor relationships
  • Follow-up on return purchase orders to suppliers to collect credit on defective materials

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Highly organized and good at following up
  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner, with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong time management skills with a sense of urgency
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Microsoft 365)
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Thorough and pays attention to detail
  • Sound knowledge off and experience working with MRP
  • Experience with MM and PP module in SAP preferred
  • Experience from a manufacturing background preferred
  • Is a team player

Education and Experience:


  • This position requires an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of successful tactical purchase
  • High school education with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience will be considered
