Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii Island. More than 300 employees and over a dozen employed physicians staff the main hospital, as well the outpatient clinics located in the Lucy Henriques Medical Center, at our Primary Care Clinic located near Longs Drugs, and at our Specialty Clinic located in the Parker Ranch Center.

Responsibilities
- Coordinates the scheduling of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures.
- Monitors charges and invoices for surgical services to ensure complete and accurate charges for surgical procedures.
- Works with physicians and their staff, Nurse Manager or designee, and other health care team members and facilities to ensure surgical services are coordinated and provided appropriately, and in a timely manner to the patient.
- Performs inventory management.
- Performs Unit Secretary duties as needed.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking
- Frequent: sitting, walking, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods
- Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight up to 30 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
- Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax, printer and other office equipment.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years clerical experience in in a healthcare facility or patient scheduling, preferably in a comparable hospital.
- Prior experience in scheduling surgical services preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience to demonstrate knowledge in patient registration, admitting and medical insurance, medical terminology and/or scheduling preferred.
