The Surgical Services Director is accountable and responsible for planning, designing, organizing, directing and coordinating the clinical operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center and Hospital Surgical Services Departments to ensure quality care and patient safety. Communicates with physicians, directors, coworkers, as appropriate regarding departmental updates. Responsible for all facets of financial management, to ensure Surgical Services operates in a fiscally responsible manner. Establishes controls relating to custody of official documents of the Surgical Services and the confidentiality, security, and physical safety of data on patients and staff.

Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited BSN Nursing Program

Preferred Education:
Masters of Science in Nursing or Health Administration

Required Technical Skills:
Leadership; Relationship building among surgeons, anesthesiologists, staff and colleagues.

Preferred Technical Skills:
Demonstrated ability to grow the services lines, and/or begin new service lines.

Required Experience:
5 years experience in a nursing leadership position within Surgical Services.

Preferred Experience:
Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery experience.

Required Licensure /Registration /Certification:
Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or compact state, CNOR
