Job Summary and Qualifications

A Surgical Technician II, performs the scrub role as a member of the Perioperative team. Assists the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure. Functions as a member of a specialty team. Ability to work cooperatively with the surgical team. As a technician II, demonstrates competency in the practice advanced level case assignment and advanced level equipment. Acts as a resource person for others in the department and actively participates in the preceptor role in the training of new personnel. Helps coordinate special instrument needs between SPD and the OR for each specialty.   You will assist surgeons by passing instruments, medications, supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating surgeons' needs during the course of surgery.
• You will assist in maintaining safe and aseptic environment for all patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from high school or equivalent program
• Completion of Surgical Technologist course required
• Surgical Technologist certification required
• One- Two years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care facility preferred
• Current BCLS certification required.
