Summary:
The Senior Vice President, Marketing, is responsible for leading strategy development and execution of goals aligned with credit union long term plans. Resonsible the strategic management, execution and oversight of major marketing projects, leading both internal teams as well as external agency and vendor partners. The Vice President, Marketing is responsible for developing, maintaining and evolving the CommunityAmerica brand image and voice, and protecting the integrity of the brand through, paid, earned and owned media. Responsible for setting clear, measurable goals and achieving targeted results from brand awareness and positioning, acquisition, engagement and retention.

  • Leads and manages the internal marketing team and external marketing partners for all product acquisition, engagement and retention initiatives that drive organizational growth.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for staff. Provide frequent feedback regarding performance and progress on established goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for all prospect and member communications and creative services.
  • Ensures effective time and project management of the marketing team, leading and monitoring proper processes and procedures to prioritize projects, and on-time/on-budget tactical deliverables.
  • Improves member engagement communication and relationships through strategic content marketing initiatives, including building targeted email and direct marketing programs, website content, product campaigns, newsletters, retail POP/merchandising, community events, blogs and social media.
  • Leads strategic design, development, monitoring and analytics of website and other digital channels to ensure optimal content strategy is in place, and the ideal user experience is achieved to drive the desired user behavior. Report cross channel results organizationally.
  • Oversees the internal and external creative agency teams to develop and execute mass advertising and promotional campaigns, with strategic oversight and execution of TV, out-of-home, radio, digital, direct marketing, social media and emerging media; monitors, measures and reports the effectiveness of the programs.
  • Through insights and analytics, leads definition and identification of prospects in the Kansas City area to deliver the right message, at the right time, in the right place, to the right audience. Deep familiarity with segmentation models and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Leads all corporate communications efforts, including public relations, internal and executive communications, influencer marketing and event planning.
  • Plans, organizes and directs activities and staff involved in developing, evaluating and executing/activating corporate sponsorships and events which have significant community exposure. This includes strategic management and execution of the official banking partnership with the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as various community engagement initiatives in partnership with the Executive Director of the Foundation, Chief Member Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
  • Manages member satisfaction/CSAT through market research, competitive reviews, competitive insights and member experience evaluations to identify and assess competitive activity, market trends and new business opportunities.
  • Oversees activities of the marketing team members including tactical planning/execution and individual staff professional development.
  • Manages the department budget.
  • Develops and implements a robust marketing strategic and tactical plan for the organization’s product portfolio, branch and digital channels, and a communication program to support the company’s public image and reputation.
  • Promote and establish a strong, positive and productive working relationships within the organization through commitment to the organization’s vision, core values and principles.
  • Manage the development, testing and implementation of business continuity plans and ensure all plans and procedures are current and address key risks.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of all facets of marketing, including strategy, product, research, branding, digital, database/CRM, retail marketing/merchandising, PR/Communications and thought leadership.
  • Understanding of business development and sales, and ability to foster and maintain cross-departmental relationships.
  • Experience with targeted, direct marketing campaign development and execution.
  • Knowledge of retail marketing and merchandising concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage project timelines and ensure deliverables and milestones are met both from internal staff and outside vendors.
  • Product marketing experience.
  • Digital marketing experience (online, mobile and multi-channel).
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Creative Suite.
