CommScope is looking for a SysOps/DevOps Manager in Sterling, VA. This role can also be based out Richardson TX/ Shakopee, MN/ Lowell, MA/ Hickory, NC/ Lisle IL or any of our US based facilities
How You'll Help Us Connect The World:
As a member of our Comsearch team and reporting in to the Director, PLM & Software Development, you will demonstrate knowledge and experience working with all aspects of system and networking engineering, including but not limited to provisioning, installation, configuring, operation, and maintenance of both the systems and applications in a cloud-based environment. As a niche business looking to expand and evolve our suite of products we deal with some very exciting challenges, and are looking for someone who relishes the opportunities and demands that this setting provides. You’ll always be encouraged and expected to contribute ideas to improve our technology and products. Specific responsibilities include:
- Identify and manage talent, assess performance, and determine merit compensation, driving continued development including setting training goals, identifying areas of focus and providing platforms for training for the Operations team. Also responsible for addressing performance concerns as needed.
- Lead the efforts to solve production issues to address technical commitments and boost sustainability.
- Collaborate with other teams to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.
- Resolve operational concerns through collaboration with upstream support groups and various engineering teams
- Continuously evaluate efficiency and costs of all Cloud environments
- Lead effort to continuously improve our engineers’ tools, technology stack, and application performance and stability.
- Support CI/CD software development tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, Git-based repositories, Atlassian, Docker, & configuration management tools
- Create and maintains an environment to allow the software development team to seamlessly deploy their code and collaborate with them on architecture and software development activities.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Bachelors Degree and 8-10 years of SysOps/DevOps or related experience
- Proficiency in deploying and maintaining web applications
- Ability to construct and implement network, system, and application status monitoring
- Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework
- Experience with a relational database such as Oracle, Postgres or MySQL, including schema design as well as SQL
- Administrative knowledge of Linux and Windows.
- Knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, and other scripting tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tools and applications and be able to deal with ambiguity
You will excite us if you have:
- Experience using collaboration tools including JIRA, Confluence, Perforce, Bitbucket, Jenkins and Git
- Experience with AWS deployment automation tools
- Knowledgable on AWS architecture, design and implementation
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development
